Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI), is a statutory body of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India for the registration of the publications, such as newspapers and magazines. It was established on 1 July 1956, on the recommendation of the First Press Commission in 1953 and by amending the Press and Registration of Books Act 1867. This video is an effort to make students aware of the role of RNI in Indian Print Media Sector. Through this video, the objectives of formation of RNI and its functioning are also explained in detail.
