WestJet cancels hundreds of flights after surprise strike

A surprise strike by unionized airline mechanics at WestJet could lead to nearly 400 flight cancellations by end of day Saturday if a deal isn’t reached. Duncan Dee, an industry analyst and former Air Canada executive, says the next few hours will be ‘critical’ if the airline wants to avoid further travel delays.
