In this video, Valentine Adams shares how he started bending metal as a way to help with his PTSD after retiring from the military. He explains his need to let go and how that began his new career as a metal sculptor.

Using old salvaged metal from junkyards, roadsides dumps, scrap heaps, and other resources Val talks about how he repurposes metal into beautiful art.

He shares how his work offers something new, shiny, and functional to the world and how that process brings him joy. He shares his process of combining braided and intertwined metal techniques with texture into his work.

Valentine tells about his childhood growing up in Connecticut in a rural area and how that helped him to grow his imagination in a way he believes has helped him succeed as an artist.

He offers advice to other artists and shares what he believes is important as an artist to sustain a life as a creative. He also shares his compassion and his desire to give back.
