The fight with Gluttony is a real challenge for many reasons. First, he has several types of attacks. Second, he’s extremely aggressive. And third, it’s very hard to predict what his next attack will be. To defeat him, you need to react quickly and stay alert at all times.

This boss fight is divided into two phases. In the first phase, you battle Gluttony himself. Once his health bar drops to 50% or lower, the second phase begins, where you face the Kraken in the water. During this phase, the rules of the fight change completely.

Gluttony uses melee attacks, projectile attacks, and wind attacks. His melee attacks involve striking you with several of his many hands. For his projectile attacks, he launches toxic projectiles from his stomach that inflict poison, gradually draining your health over time. Finally, his wind attack is extremely dangerous—he creates a powerful suction to pull you into his mouth. If you get caught by this attack, it’s an instant defeat, regardless of how much health you have.

The best strategy for this fight is to use the Force Hollow, as it can resist wind attacks unless you’re very close to the boss. Use Salvation whenever you have the chance. You can also use other Hollow powers such as Fire or Storm, but remember to keep your distance more than you would when using the Force Hollow.

The second phase is much easier because the Kraken only has two main attacks: a slam attack and a wind attack. You can use the bombs in the water to your advantage. Unequip the Force Hollow and guide a bomb near the monster’s mouth. When he tries to suck you in along with the bomb, quickly switch back to the Force Hollow to resist the pull, or press R1 to perform a quick dash and escape the suction.
