Michael Shannon's General Zod: An ICONIC Villain

"Man of Steel" is a 2013 superhero film directed by Zack Snyder, starring Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/Kal-El/Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), and most importantly, Michael Shannon as General Zod! Without a doubt, Michael Shannon's General Zod is one of my favourite villains of all time for how rich his material is on its own and as part of the larger story and world-building, and Michael Shannon's performance is incredible! In this review, I discuss the various details that I love about this character/performance and get extra long-winded because I couldn't help but draw on my academic background when writing my outline! ENJOY!
