Welcome back to Weird News with Paskvan Podcasts and Mix 103.7, where we bring you the strangest, funniest, and most unbelievable stories making headlines around the world. This week’s lineup is packed with surprises: a wallet that reappears after more than a decade inside a car engine, a runaway cow that turned a busy Illinois road into a Wild West rodeo, and a 1,500-pound horse that had to be lifted out of an 8-foot pit.
🔹 Story 1: The Lost Wallet Found in a Car Engine
Imagine losing your wallet and not finding it for more than 10 years—only for it to turn up in one of the most unlikely places imaginable. That’s exactly what happened to Michigan resident Richard Guilford, who misplaced his wallet in 2014 while working at a Ford factory. Despite searching dozens of cars, the wallet was nowhere to be found. Fast forward to June 2025, when mechanic Chad Volk in Minnesota discovered the missing wallet wedged inside the engine compartment of a Ford Edge with 151,000 miles on it. Miraculously, the contents of the wallet survived years of heat, snow, and rain, sparking amazement from everyone involved.
🔹 Story 2: Traffic Jam Caused by a Cow on the Loose
In Williamson County, Illinois, traffic came to a halt—but not because of an accident. Instead, a cow had made a daring escape from a stock trailer at a gas station and wandered into the road. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, local police, and quick-thinking cattlemen worked together to wrangle the runaway bovine. With lassos in hand, the scene looked like something out of Red Dead Redemption. Eventually, the cow was safely captured and returned to its owner. The Sheriff’s Office summed it up best: “Teamwork isn’t just for catching criminals; sometimes it’s for catching cows!”
🔹 Story 3: Horse Rescued From 8-Foot Pit
In Baltimore County, Maryland, a horse named John—32 years old and weighing 1,500 pounds—found himself in a serious bind after falling through old wooden planks into a deep pit. The Baltimore County Fire Department responded quickly, but rescuing such a massive animal required heavy equipment. Thanks to Rockdale Towing, which rolled in with a crane, John was hoisted safely out of the hole and returned home unharmed. Firefighters shared the incredible rescue video and gave a shoutout to the towing company for making the save possible. The internet has since joked about updating the phrase “hold your horses” to “hole your horses.”
✨ Why This Matters:
From lost treasures to animal antics, these stories remind us that truth is often stranger than fiction. A wallet can survive a decade under the hood, a cow can stop traffic in its tracks, and a 32-year-old horse can still have adventures worth telling.
