Hudson Canyon, a massive submarine canyon just off the coast of New York and New Jersey, is home to hundreds of marine species, including fresh Atlantic seafood you love to eat. It’s where your fish guy gets his fish. But Hudson Canyon and its inhabitants are under threat of offshore oil, gas, and mineral extraction.

“If you’re a fish lover, you want to protect the Hudson Canyon,” says Vinny Milburn, the owner of Greenpoint Fish and Lobster Co. in New York.

During World Oceans Month, select seafood markets in New York and New Jersey will wrap their seafood in butcher paper with language in support of protecting the Hudson Canyon with a QR code driving to the petition.
