FFVII Rebirth - White Terror Strategy Guide

White Terror is a tricky enemy to take down, a few minor mistakes can cause you to lose your entire run. I've devised a strategy that has worked for me pretty consistently! This setup involves a few tricks, the most important ones:
- Bind Materia
- Prime Mode
- ATB Boost Materia
- First Strike Materia
- Enemy Skill Materia
- Any choice of elemental magic materia with an -aga level spell (fire, lightning, ice, wind, quake)
- Limit Booster accessory

The strategy goes as follows: To start, open with using your ATB boost (L1 + R1). Immediately use Prime Mode, then prepare to dodge the first attack from White Terror. After this, use Sonic Boom (an enemy skill) to temporarily cast Bravery and Faith. This helps increase the damage you deal, reducing the chance of Earsplitting Howl to trigger. From here, use the prime mode attacks (hold down square / attack while in Prime Mode) to cast the Fury status. This will further increase the damage dealt, and also increase limit charge rate.

Continue using prime mode attacks to maintain fury, and replenish your Bravery and Faith buffs with Sonic Boom. If you have spare ATB, use Focused Thrust to speed up the stagger process. Make sure to heal around 3000 HP or lower, since most of his attacks will do a little more than 3000 (except for one attack, which can do 5000). It's important to ensure that right before staggering, you keep all these buffs. This will allow you to increase the damage you can output with a Limit Break once staggered.

The most important part of this strategy is making efficient use of Sleep. By casting Sleep on White Terror, we can reset his charge for Earsplitting Howl. Our job is to best predict when he will use it, so we can spend ATB charges on other spells and abilities. The best timing I found was to wait until he's charged (will go in a stance and fire up), and after either dodging two attacks or getting hit by one attack, cast Sleep. Shortly after those, he usually uses Earsplitting Howl, so casting Sleep at this point should maximize the time between casts.

Once you stagger White Terror, you want to ensure your buffs will last the entire Limit Break duration. You can use the Prime Mode attacks to quickly build ATB for Sonic Boom, as well as regaining Fury status. Once you have Fury, Bravery and Faith, immediately unleash your Limit Break. By this point, White Terror should be chipped away, and you can finish him by charging an -aga spell right after.

This is a tricky fight, but with some practice, it'll become a piece of cake! I struggled with the fight at first, but after trying new things, I really enjoy taking on the White Terror. It's a great test of your game mechanics and makes you strategize.
