This one is quite special.
Created around a small piano improvisation, some light binaural rain soundscape and some random manipulation sounds and layered acousticly generated ambient sounds.

I was actually really tired when I recorded this piano melody and I was truly falling asleep while playing it on the loop.
After listenning to it the next day, I actually found it too naive to build an actual track around it as is but I was liking the mood induced by the repetition. I kept it exactly as I recorded it, with all its imperfections and primitiveness.
The layered sounds are all generated from real sounds (except the deep bass synth at the end of the piano impro), some of them with my violin.

I feel that the frontier between ASMR contents and music can be quite thin and I want to experiment with both worlds. It might not trigger you but I hope that you'll find it pleasant to listen to anyway. I'd love to hear what are your thoughts about it.


❓What is ASMR? Here is how I would explain it :

ASMR describes a phenomenon that triggers a physiological pleasure response often describe as tingles traveling through the body triggered by specific stimulations that can be visual, tactile and often audio and occur when the spectator is in an pleasant situation. Comparison is oftently made with the "frisson" phenomenon in music, this response to an intense, pleasing and moving musical moment, though it is not the same sensation.

A community then rised around this phenomenon since 2007, mostly in the USA, now also worldwide in the shape of youtube videos to induce the well-being feeling and a meditative and relaxing state. The trend is getting so popular that we now see brands using ASMR inducing content in commercials.

Cette vidéo est assez singulière.
Construite autour d'une petite improvisation au piano, d'un enregistrement de pluie binaural combiné à un enregistrement de manipulations d'objets ainsi que des nappes sonores générés à partir de divers sons enregistrés (hormis le synthétiseur très grave à la fin de l'impro au piano).

A vrai dire, j'étais très fatiguée quand j'ai enregistré cette mélodie au piano et mes yeux se fermaient tout seul en jouant.
Après réécoute le lendemain, je trouvais cette improvisation trop simpliste pour en tirer un morceau en elle-même mais j'aimais l'ambiance qu'installait la répétition ininterrompue de cette courte mélodie. Je l'ai donc gardée intacte, telle que je l'avais enregistrée cette nuit-là, avec toute ses imperfections et sa candeur. Les nappes sonores sont crées principalement autour d'enregistrement de mon violon.

J'ai le sentiment que la frontière entre des contenus ASMR et la musique peut être très ténue et j'ai envie d'expérimenter sur ce que ces deux mondes peuvent s'apporter. Cette vidéo ne déclenchera peut-être pas votre ASMR mais j'espère que vous la trouverez plaisante à écouter dans tout les cas. J'adorerais avoir vos avis là-dessus.
