Not all trauma destroys you in the same way. Some trauma actually helps you grow — and some, especially parental and mother trauma, can freeze your development and turn you into an “eternal child”.

Separation–individuation at age 2 as the second rejection and the beginning of primary narcissism

Self-traumatizing moments (insight, realization, painful “aha” moments) are deliberately induced in psychotherapy because they can drive real change
Mother wounds and parental abuse — even “hidden” abuse like emotional incest, parentification, idealization and isolation — create deep dysfunction, emotional lability and lifelong problems with selfhood and reality.
