This open working is located on enclosed land to the north of Nantlle. It opened in about 1830 and comprised two pits joined by a tunnel. Water power was possibly used for pumping but from the 1860s steam was used for haulage and mill power, and a cable incline replaced a water balance. Output may never have exceeded 500 tons per annum, even with 100 men employed. In 1883 the quarry produced 728 tons with 62 men employed. Originally material was taken via a tramway to Cilgwyn (Nantlle) but after 1881 the North Wales Narrow Gauge Railway was used via the Bryngwyn incline. The quarry amalgamated with Old Braich (NPRN 400649) in 1882, and closed in about 1950.
