Описание к видео God's Country: Jefferson, Maryland

The Sights and Scenes of how Jefferson, Maryland and the Broader Middletown Valley of the Blue Ridge Province is "God's Country."

A Tribute to God & to King Jesus, the King of Kings - a project of equal parts of passion and inspiration...inspired by the combination of the glorious beauty of the surrounding countryside and waterways of Jefferson and the song "God's Country," recorded by country music musician, Blake Shelton. God's Country was released as a single on March 29, 2019 and is included in the album Fully Loaded: God's Country. The song was written by Devin Dawson, Jordan Schmidt, & Hardy and is owned by the record label Warner Records Inc. Its music video was directed by Sophie Muller and was recorded in and around Tishomingo, Oklahoma. This video shows how God has provided us with many good and beautiful things with each season and a showing of the powerful forces of God's wrath. This video was created purely out of passion and was both an honor and a pleasure to produce. I absolutely am not seeking any form of financial gain or recognition, but however, would be humbly honored if Blake Shelton, the song writers, video director, and/or video producer were to watch this, and perhaps see a another side of God's Country, from away from Oklahoma, but equally as rich in natural beauty, and where many people work hard off the land, churning the soil to put bread on the table and thanking the Lord for what they have and for being placed in this part of the world. Like with the wilds of Western Maryland, the scenic beauty of Jefferson isn't what comes to mind for most when picturing Maryland.

"When I Look At Your Heavens, The Work Of Your Fingers, The Moon And The Stars That You Have Established; What Are Human Beings That You Are Mindful Of Them, Mortals That You Care For Them?" - Psalm 8:3-4

“But Ask The Animals, And They Will Teach You, Or The Birds In The Sky, And They Will Tell You; Or Speak To The Earth, And It Will Teach You, Or Let The Fish In The Sea Inform You. Which Of All These Does Not Know That The Hand Of The Lord Has Done This? In His Hand Is The Life Of Every Creature And The Breath Of All Mankind." - Job 12:7-10

Blake Shelton stated, that "God's Country' is a song that has a strong and deep meaningful lyric...But no matter where you are from or where you're standing it is my belief that you're standing in God's Country. It's really about a state of mind. Wherever you're from and how you feel about that place. For me, it's about being from Oklahoma – where I was born, raised and still live today (Thompson, 2019, https://popculture.com)."

Established several generations before the Civil War, the featured scenes of the town of Jefferson include: Catoctin Mountain, historic Catoctin Creek, the "Potomac" of the Middletown Valley, the Potomac River, steeped in history, & commonly known as "The Nation's River," and, at large, the sprawling seasonal beauty of the Middletown Valley. The featured church is Jefferson United Methodist Church.

Established in 1774, Jefferson is located in southwestern corner of Maryland's Frederick County, & is separated from Virginia's Loudoun County by the Potomac River.

The Potomac River and Catoctin Creek are places of special appeal. The Middletown Valley, was formally and historically once called the Catoctin Valley. The valley extends to and is separated by the Potomac River, from where its name then becomes Loudoun Valley. Both Catoctin Creek & the Middletown Valley are rich in history & cultural heritage. During the post Native Americans era, the region became inhabited by English and German settlers in the 1730s, as explorations & settlements gradually advanced further and further into the upstream reaches of the Potomac River, well before the area's scarring Civil War involvement, which had a direct & fiery impact on Catoctin Creek on September 14, 1862. The Valley is encompassed within the relatively narrowed strip of the Blue Ridge Province, which is one of Maryland's five physiographic provinces. Catoctin Mountain & South Mountain, the two mountains that create the valley and Catoctin Creek's drainage basin and numerous tributaries consist largely of metabasalt/basalt flows and deformed Precambrian and Cambrian metamorphic rocks, such as granite, quartzites, & schists. The Blue Ridge province includes the Blue Ridge & Appalachian Mountain ranges. The lower third of Catoctin Creek, from Jefferson to its confluence with the Potomac River can very well be thought of as "The Canyon" of the Middletown Valley, not only because of it being the lowest lying point of the valley, but because of its magnificent canyon features. Steepening cliffs and outcrops of boreal forest looking weathered metamorphic rocks are beautifully abundant, resembling the scenery of the Potomac River's North Branch, creating shear vertical rock faces close to the Potomac & in portions of Jefferson
