Stirling Engine Horizontal Alpha Stationary Engine - Compression ratio reduced - Part 9

Описание к видео Stirling Engine Horizontal Alpha Stationary Engine - Compression ratio reduced - Part 9

Changes made to hopefully improve things!

I got the horizontal stirling engine running for the first time in the last video and have made a few changes last night

The first change is I have reduced the compression ratio from 1:2 to 1:1.5. I am hoping this will make it a more docile engine that will run on a lower temperature differential. I did this by changing the crank position bolt hole position and lengthening the conrod lengths
The second change is replacement of the non return valve with a modified plumbing fitting. I left the phase / crank angle at roughly 120 degrees.

I hope engine runs better than before! I don't have any power measuring device hooked up yet but will sort this out when I've got the engine to the point it's running very well.

I'm happy to report the engine did run much better than before! The performance did seem to tail off a bit towards the end but in general it was pretty good.

It is not the finished article yet and I now need to think about what to do next to make it better!

Thankyou for watching
