WELCOME to Flosstubeversity Episode 1!

Our goal here is to share information regarding stitching skills and the history of all things stitching related.

Today we will look at the age old recommendation of keeping the selvage edge to the left of your stitched project. I’m sure you’ve heard of this, but we ask why? Why is this the recommendation?

In less than 10 minutes you will learn a bit about how your linen is made, the warp and weft of the linen weave and how this results in a selvage edge. You will learn when it’s important to have your selvage a particular orientation and when to cut this selvage away and why - this may surprise you!
