Disclaimer: This hike destination was ACCIDENTAL. We had no intention of trespassing (if we were!)

For the video, we cut out the beginning of the trail, and the trail head as we're not 100% sure the Tea Gardens are open to the public. We started on a trail we were familiar with, but quickly got led the wrong direction by a stray trail. The trail trajectory looked promising, so we pushed on. After being on the trail for a while, we realized the trail was becoming less and less "worn and traveled", so we figured we were in for some sort of adventure. Little did we know what the trail was actually leading us to...
Spencer, a Santa Barbara native, had been to the Tea Gardens before, but not for years, and not using this route. So, all of this came to him as a surprise as well. When we approached the crest of the trail, we realized what we had stumbled upon. Out of sheer fascination and curiosity, we spent hours discovering abandon structures, flying the drone, and walking through the property. This place is absolutely breath-taking and and incredible spectacle in and of itself...
As we ventured through the property, we followed what seemed like a paved road toward the bottom. However, upon reaching the actual bottom, we realized we were caged in, and we started to get the feeling we were not supposed to be there. We quickly made our exit as safely as possible, and followed the road back to the cars. This was one of my favorite hikes of the year so far, as it was so unique and unexpected. Still, I cant help but wonder what that place looked like when it was in it's prime...
