​🌴 The Stunning Home on the Beach at Portland Roads! (Caretaker Life in Tropical North Queensland) 🥥

​Join me for a personal tour of my temporary home on the beach at Portland Roads in Far North Queensland! For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been parked right on the beach under the beautiful coconut trees. But for one glorious week, I’ve been lucky enough to be staying in the stunning Portland House—the local beach house and a premier Queensland holiday rental!

​Come inside this incredible two-story, old-style Queenslander house. I'll show you the renovations I've been working on, including putting up new walls, and a glimpse of the gorgeous staircase I sanded and oiled. This is truly a tropical north queensland getaway.

​The Veranda: Check out the neat outside veranda with an amazing ocean view.
​Backyard & Amenities: See the nice backyard, barbecue/pizza area, and the convenience of a real bathroom and laundry facilities (a much-needed escape from the midges!).

​My Living Quarters: Peek into my open-plan bedroom, the cozy galley kitchen with its deep freeze, and the beautiful rustic pantry.
​Relaxation: Find out where I sit for my morning coffee, enjoying the beautiful colors and the natural, old-style charm of the house.

​This has been an amazing time, working as a caretaker for the wonderful owners, Greg and Sheree (who run the Blue Cafe next door). I’m grateful for the rest before heading off on my next big adventure: a month and a half in the wilderness! I’ve been patiently waiting for those strong southeast winds to finally die down, and it looks like November is bringing the perfect sailing weather.
