Arduino Due finally plays video with sound! Took a while but all the effort was worth it. Multiple iterations of going over the SD card code, graphics API code and OLED code have resulted in the ability to handle video and audio on a device with only 96K of SRAM and 84Mhz clock.

The OLED is a SSD1351 @128*128 (A$20 off Alibaba) while the sound is via AD7302 (A$12ish off RS components) 8 bit parallel.

The video was converted by "MCU Resource Maker" which has been in development for 2 years and only recently had a video converter built in.

Audio rate supported at the moment is 4000Hz - 16000Hz.

Video rates available include but not limited to 12, 12.5, 15, 24, 25, 30.

Video modes include RGB565, RGB8, Gray 256, Gray 16, Gray 4 and mono.

Put an optimization in last night on the video file format. The reading off the SD card is a bottleneck so any speeding up is a good % boost in speed/efficiency. Basically I give the option when video is created to align the individual video and audio frames to 512 byte boundaries so the SD card read routines are always entire aligned blocks and not partial blocks.

Each video frame has some audio data directly after it. Basically the entire audio track at the given rate (8 bit mono) has to be divided into the number of frames. The software allows for 1024 bytes per frame. Therefore on a more powerful output device you can have more FPS and hence better audio as well.
