In this video we'll learn about direct variation. Specifically, we'll look at a word problem that tells us that the number of teachers in a school varies directly with the number of students, which means that, when the number of students increases, the number of teachers will increase also. Or in the opposite situation, when the number of students decreases, the number of teachers will decrease also.
