Melanie (Mei Ling), was born in Bern, Switzerland. She belongs to the 3rd generation of a circus family. She made her debut at the age of 6 as a tumbler. Her father, Fredi Chy is a martial arts artist and performed traditional Chinese acrobatic with her mother, Edith Chy.
Melanie won numerous awards including a Silver Medal at the Cirque de l’Avenire in Paris, Jury prize at the Internationaler Deutscher Artistenpreis, “La Dame du Cirque” at the International European Circus Festival and “Le Prix Du Cirque d’Hiver” Paris. Melanie's acrobatics teacher was the famous Russian acrobat Nikolai Polinik. Not surprisingly, she performed in many major circus events all around the world like the Benneweis Circus in Denmark, Krone Bau Germany, Arlette Gruss France, Taipan Circus in Singapore and many more. Besides that, she made some special appearance for the two NBA teams, Chicago Bulls and the Toronto Raptors.
