Top 5 Best FREE Stock Footage Websites (2020)

In today’s video we’re going to be going over the top 5 best free stock footage websites of 2020! Stock footage is great whether you need a free background video or additional content to spice up your YouTube videos. I’ve been using stock footage websites recently to change up my content and wanted to share what I thought were the best FREE stock footage websites so you can do the same.

Most of the stock video sites I will be mentioning are community-based, meaning that there is new content being added daily. Additionally, you’ll be able to use the videos from most of these sites for commercial use. I’ll be going over the specifics of each website’s distribution licenses (e.g. do you have to credit the creator) in the video! The nice thing about these sites is that all of the stock videos you use will be royalty free / copyright free so you won’t have to worry about getting any strikes either.

You'll be able to find tons of free stock videos on these sites, and you can use this stock video for whatever purpose it may be.

Videvo: Free stock footage that is licensed as royalty free (as long as you give credit) They have 1000s of videos, motion graphics templates, and sound effects with new ones being added daily. 1:44 2. Pexels: Extremely large library of stock videos AND photos that you can download for absolutely free with no need to credit (although you still should). This is the best option if you are looking for a large community-made library of videos and images: https://www.pexels.com/

2:34 3. Pixabay: Over 1.8 million images and stock footage that you can use with similar licensing terms to Pexels. Pixabay also has 1000s of vectors and some royalty-free music that you can access. The site is very well organized but I would say they definitely have a lot more photos than videos (as the name suggests): https://pixabay.com/

3:32 4. Coverr: A stock footage site focused solely on videos. They have a great selection of b-roll clips as well as more niche videos such as people doing tasks and Zoom virtual backgrounds: https://coverr.co/

4:25 5. Videezy: Has ~1000 stock videos you can access for free as well as After Effects templates and vectors so you can add elements such as lower thirds to your content as well: https://www.videezy.com/
