On our day 9th we explored Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia -- a country both my husband and I have taken a special liking to. And being the history geek that I am, I have also found myself getting more and more involved with the history of Cambodia -- especially the Cambodian Genocide and killing fields -- which is a recent proof of the evil humans are able to commit -- even towards their own country men.

I wasn't able to explain the full story of the story behind the Genocide and killing fields, so there's a lot of things left out. For an example that besides people with education -- all people who were not of full Cambodian origin (especially people of Vietnamese decent) were also killed. Overall it was hard to explain the horrors that happend through the four years of Khmer Rouge reign in Cambodia in just a few minutes -- so the best thing is to fully look into what happend, by searching on the internet and youtube as well.
