Ducati Cadet 100 1967-1969 Restoration

Описание к видео Ducati Cadet 100 1967-1969 Restoration

A 2-year restoration project, which resulted in a fully restored and operational Ducati 100 Cadet. The motorcycle was in storage for 30 years.

Initially in a very bad condition with a 2-point broken chassis and quite a lot of rust especially inside the fuel tank and the exhaust pipe. Another challenge was the wheels replacement as their original rims and spokes posed a hurdle to find or repair as well as the cleaning of the fuel tank internal. Nevertheless, the front and rear brakes backing plates remained the same. Also, the saddle metal base was leaving marginal space for repair and required a hard effort to maintain it.

The engine required an overall maintenance but it did not need any special parts. The repair of the sand blasted broken chassis was also proved a demanding procedure. The nickel work proved a value for money decision.

The motorcycle is a second hand buy before many years without any manuals or other details. That, in combination with the missing of any initial decals (if there was any) and the lack of any other web photo or information of the fuel tank color schematic, led to the decision to follow the one shown in the company's user manual of the era.

In any case, any relative information is welcomed.

Special thanks to j_welsh5 (ebay ID) for providing for free the much wanted maintenance spare parts catalogue.
