Support Requirements : taunt (to block infernape from using nasty plot). acid spray to debuff infernape's special defense because meganium cannot buff its own special attack. rain dance to halve damage from supereffective flare blitz. chilling water to counter swords dance. Good options for support include arceus, mew, qwilfish, overqwil, and toxicroak.

Strategy: wait for orb steal, 3x giga drain, grassy terrain (renewing once when it expires). wait for infernape to clear its stats. giga drain when you need HP. heal pulse when your supporter needs HP. 1-3 mud-slap. terastalize, giga drain to victory.

Notes: a physical meganium doesn't need chilling water or acid spray support, though it will struggle with healing before the shell bell is ready, especially considering that rain halves the effectiveness of synthesis, so it would benefit from healing support (e.g. life dew). it will also be slower since it takes 6 turns to get to +6 attack using curse. meganium can counter nasty plot with light screen, but it's less tolerant of critical hits, and it requires renewal (which breaks the metronome chain).

Pros: supereffective tera type matching base type, great HP stat, excellent defense stat, decent special attack and special defense stats. resists grass knot. heal pulse heals an ally by 50% of their max HP (freeing up a move slot for them). grassy terrain lasts 5 turns, gives a 1.3x boost to giga drain, and heals slightly at the end of each turn. mud-slap debuffs accuracy 1 stage through shield, giga drain has 75 base power, 100 accuracy, and deals supereffective STAB (tera-boosted when terastalized) damage. it heals an amount equal to 50% of the damage it deals. metronome boosts damage by a factor that increases with consecutive attacks (1x,1.2x,1.4x,...,maxes at 2x). overgrow gives 1.5x boost to giga drain when HP is below 1/3.

Cons: weak to flare blitz, outsped by infernape
