A Fallen Hero Comes Home

While waiting for our Southwest Airlines flight home from Phoenix's Sky Harbor Airport, we witnessed a wonderful show of respect for a fallen hero from WWII who had served at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack.

Our gate agent announced our flight would be delayed because of this, but no one would miss any connections. He also said if anyone would like to pay their respects to this hero please witness the ceremony at the windows overlooking the gate area.

There were members of all the various services, as well as city and state first responders waiting for his arrival. The short ceremony was a very moving experience

We congratulate Southwest Airlines and the City of Phoenix for showing the proper respect due all of our fallen heroes.
