Making a roller, adding a spool block to the log splitter and splitting some MASSIVE logs.

The first job In this video is to make a replacement roller for a conveyor. I recycle an old hydraulic cylinder body as its nice heavy wall and almost the right diameter. I cut it down to length, cnc plasma cut some end plates out and machine them to the right ID/OD in the lathe. These are then welded in.

Next job is to make a bracket for the log splitter to mount on the spool valve. This is drawn up in 3D using Onshape then cut out of some 5mm plate before being pressed to a 90degree angle. After getting some hydraulics hoses made, both the valves are mounted and all hoses are fitted. The flow on the tractor had to be turned down as i don't think either valve has enough flow. It still works just maybe not as fast as it could do.
We had some big tree trunks and logs to split so i had a day or so helping out. Makes a nice change!
