Does The Satechi Hub For Mac Mini Have Issues?

A subscriber asked me about some rumored issues concerning the Satechi hub. I've looked into these as well, and it seems that a few people have reported some problems. It's unclear to me if this is in regard to the original hub or the current version? I do some "non scientific" testing here to see if I can pin point any of these potential issues.
