►The boss of P&O Ferries has admitted that his firm broke the law by firing 800 workers on the spot. In an extraordinary Parliamentary committee, Peter Hebblethwaite said the reason the unions weren't consulted was because they'd never have accepted the changes. He did apologise to the staff - but said he'd do it all again.
