Caramel Bread Pudding is a creamy and rich dessert recipe made with custard powder, bread and milk. Pudding is a well-known dessert recipe in European countries and an integral part of a full course meal. There are many flavors to this recipe, but this recipe post dedicates to the basic version of Caramel Custard Bread Pudding without egg and oven.

INGREDIENTS:
• SUGAR - 1/4 CUP (FOR CARAMEL)
• BREAD – 3 LARGE PIECES
• CUSTARD POWDER - 1/4 CUP*
• WATER - 1/2 CUP*
• MILK - 1 & 1/2 CUP*
• SUGAR - 1/2 CUP*

*1 CUP = 250ML
Method:
Firstly, in a pan spread ¼ cup sugar. Keeping the flame on medium heat the sugar.
Stir occasionally, until the sugar melts.
Sugar melts and turns golden brown. Do not burn the caramelized sugar. Transfer the caramelized sugar into a bowl and swirl. Take the bread slices and trim off the sides and pulse into crumbs. In a bowl, take 4tbsp of custard powder, 1/2 cup water and mix well without lumps. Heat a pan and boil 1 1/2 cup of milk and pour the custard mixture into it. Mix well in medium flame and cook until the mixture thickens. Pour it into the caramelized set bowl. Cover the bowl and steam for 20-30 minutes. Cool down to room temperature and refrigerate for 2 hours. Our yummy Caramel Bread Pudding is ready to have!!
