Welcome to Part 3 of our boat floor replacement series and thank you for tuning in to our boat project. This video covers the boat floor installation and coating with resin prior to fiberglass. I used marine grade 1/2" okoume plywood for the flooring, 3m 5200 marine adhesive, stainless steel screws, and stainless steel staples in the construction of the boat floor. I could have went with Coosa board, which is a no-rot synthetic material, but it was way more expensive for our old 1990 boat and if installed and cared for properly, marine grade okoume plywood will last for decades! Below I will include many of the products that I used throughout this build. The process of completing this has been rewarding, but it's been a lot of work. The process of fixing the boat doesn't take long, but waiting on the resin, putty, and marine adhesive to cure is what makes things take longer. Each time you fiberglass something to the hull of the boat, you must prep the surface by sanding it, wipe it down with acetone, and then apply your material.
