Shelby and I came to Poland because we wanted to know how to best help in the Ukrainian Refugee crisis. In situations such as this, it is difficult to know who to trust, and we could not in good conscious direct people where to give unless we saw for ourselves the most direct and effective form of help.

Through our time here we have found a path forward with people in Poland we trust who will Get it done! We had no idea when we arrived, the magnitude of the impact we would be able to have in such a short period of time.

What I love about West Ridge is our commitment to come together to make a difference. Through a multi-faceted approach, your donation will help to provide refugees with housing, food, supplies, job placement, language classes, and travel assistance to help them rebuild their lives.

When the war started in Ukraine I was on my way to work. I read on Facebook that there is the beginning of a horrific situation. I started to think about how I could help. I have this retreat center, and it was obvious to me that I can help the people that flee from the war, I can give them shelter, ensure them a place to recover and rest to help them have the time to figure out what their lives look like next. It came from my heart because I live this way, I was raised this way and could not sit back and do nothing.

I would also like to say to all of you who want to help the way Darren and Shelby help us that this help is really necessary to us. My help was really spontaneous, it has started in a small and is growing beyond what I could do by myself, but thanks to your help, I will get an additional pair of wings to be able to do even more for more refugees.
