Komna remains the most backward region within this assembly segment, where development is still largely out of reach. Despite this, all political parties are keenly focused on Komna for the upcoming by-poll. Meanwhile, Khariar Road, a significant commercial hub in Nuapada district, is also witnessing a shift in political dynamics.

The 'Election Express' team reached Khaligaon, a remote village in Komna. You'd be surprised to know that this village is approximately 20 kilometers from its Panchayat office, and its residents have to cross hills just to reach their Panchayat. This represents another stark plight of Komna.
