Split (4K Drone Aerial 2024, also known as Spalato in Italian) is a beautiful and historic city with Greek and Roman roots in Southern Croatia. Split was founded by the Greeks in the 6 BC and was named Aspathalos (Ασπάλαθος). In the Roman era Split was an important holiday destination for the emperor. Diocletianus built an enormous palace in the city centre. The remains of the palace of Diocletianus can still be visited next to the Catholic Cathedral of St. Domnius. The city of Split has approximately 225,000 citizens and is the biggest city of the region of Dalmatia at the Adriatic coast. The most famous football team is HNK Hajduk Split.
