KIRAN NEWS, an audio-visual monthly is an ICT based extension service in the form of news of various agricultural activities/programmes from the North Eastern Region and some important happenings of the country as well. The flow of information and knowledge from different sources that accumulated in KIRAN database remained almost static. There was less dissemination to the desired targeted-stakeholder on account of some inescapable circumstances. In order to bridge the gap, the first step taken by the team is to transform the static nature of information being confined in the portal to a dynamic flow in the form of Newsletter. Secondly, the same information is presented in a more sensory way using audio-visual news. The news will enhance the sharing of information for the growth of knowledge at large whereby widening its outreach. In addition to the default information received through KIRAN portal, other form of information under the domain of agriculture from around the corner especially from the region are gathered to publish in the news.
