#happyface is a drama centered on Melissa Moore (Ashford) the daughter of the real-life "Happy Face Killer" Keith Jesperson (Dennis Quaid), who murdered at least eight women. The series follows Melissa's efforts to keep her past a secret while exploring the impact of her father's crimes. A key plot point involves a call to a true crime show where Keith claims to have confessed to an additional murder, but only to Melissa

The show was adapted from the 2018 podcast 'Happy Face' by Melissa Moore, and her 2009 autobiography 'Shattered Silence', co-written with M. Bridget Cook. The series stars Annaleigh Ashford, James Wolk, Tamera Tomakili, Khiyla Aynne, Benjamin Mackey, and Dennis Quaid.

During the #interview, the two discuss in detail how much they love true crime streaming shows and podcasts, what makes this show different from so many other true crime stories, how they've seen television grow, and Ashford relates her new role as Melissa to her iconic turn playing Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd.
