What Are Twitch Extensions?

Twitch Extensions come in three different types, first, you have Panel Extensions, these appear below your stream in the about section, and you are allowed 3 of these maximum. You’ll see examples of these all over Twitch, from Emote Showcase panels to Viewer Geo Panels.

The second type of Extension is a component extension, you can have two of these, and the most common version of this you’ve probably seen is the Twitch Prime Loot and Sub reminder component. The most common one you’ve seen is probably the Prime Loot and Subscription reminder, everyone installs that to remind people they can use Twitch Prime.

Finally, the last type is Overlay Extensions. You can only have one overlay extension, and they are usually a bit more advanced, for example, I use a closed caption overlay so that people who are hard of hearing or deaf are able to enjoy the stream even if they can’t hear me, they can read what I am saying.
