On the 9th of October 2019, Fabina Hangula delivered a healthy baby girl by using only plastic bags to cover her hands after the mother, Lavinia Kashile, was left abandoned on the side of the road by a taxi driver while she was in labour. Hangula delivered the baby while patrolling with her team during Operation Kalahari Desert. Commissioner-General Raphael Hamunyela from the Namibian Correctional Service, commended Hangula for her heroic act and surprised her, by giving her a promotion from an official in the security division to Senior Correctional Officer with a salary of nearly a 150 000 annually.
