Interview around AI & AR Opportunities | Alex McNeilly | TEDxBoston

Alex believes generative AI will act as the "creative engine" for more immersive and experiential AR. The primary benefit of AR is experiencing data and media in a third (more human) dimension, but one of the biggest barriers to mass adoption of AR is the complexity of creating spatial content for it. However, with generative AI and Neural Radiance Fields, we are on the cusp of a new era of spatial creativity, where technology will empower us to not only consume and socially interact with 3D content, but to easily generate it using AI. I'm a computer science student at MIT. I've been building augmented reality projects since I was 15, and I've been fascinated with everything immersive for almost six years now. I have also worked on open resources for learning AR development and was a speaker at the VR/AR Global Summit a few years back. I want to talk about the fusion of AI with augmented reality and how generative deep learning will allow us to create personal 3D content and overlay it onto the world around us.
