This video describes the link budget spreadsheet (Google Sheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...) I use to design and analyze a wireless communications link. One sheet starts from input transmitter and receiver parameters, channel model, and calculates the probability of bit error for a variety of modulations. The other sheet starts from a given probability of bit error and C/N0 ratio and given modulation to compute the maximum bit rate possible and bandwidth of the signal at that bit rate.
