This is a new one for the channel. I've spent time making wrecked or abandoned cars run but I haven't had the chance on something that was burned.
The car is a 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata, one of 5400 produced, and the only factory turbocharged Miata. I own and run a full service auto salvage operation in the Saint Louis area and we go through great lengths to get cars to run so we can stand behind critical components and offer good warranties. This car suffered a pretty rough engine bay fire and was subsequently totaled where I bought it from the salvage pool auction. I didn't even know mileage. In this video I go through all the damage to try to find out mileage and crudely attempt to get it running.
