Burkina Faso's President Ibrahim Traore handed the military keys to their new logistics and combat equipment at the Naaba-Koom 2 Camp in Ouagadougou on Tuesday.

Footage shows Traore touring the camp and examining the army's new tanks, fuel trucks and military equipment after handing over the keys to Brigadier General Celestin Simpore.

"I officially hand over to you the keys to those logistics and combat engines. Take this material as a year-end gift from the people to the army and intensify the war," the president said.

The new equipment includes domestically-manufactured mine-resistant armoured vehicles. The delivery of the new equipment is reportedly intended to strengthen the army's operational capacity aid them in their fight against terrorism in the country.
