A viewer on my Discord server posted footage of this glitch the other day, so I had to try it out. Apparently, in Mega Man 3 for the NES, Needle Man's attack hitboxes are fraudulent!

When Needle Man does his melee attack where he extends the spike from his head to hit you, he can damage Mega Man even if he's facing the completely wrong direction. The attack shows Needle Man thrusting his head spike on a chain directly in front of him, but it can still hit you even if you're behind him.

If Mega Man is behind Needle Man when he uses that particular attack, the attack will still connect even though visually it appears to have completely whiffed.

Long story short, Needle Man can do an attack with his head that will hit you even when he misses!
