The BMPT Terminator, also nicknamed Terminator 2, is a heavily armed armored Tank Support Combat Vehicle.
The Russian company Uralvagonzavod built and produced the armored combat vehicle known as the BMPT "Terminator" . The BMPT72 "Terminator 2" is an enhancement over the original terminator. Constructed from a T72 hull, the "Terminator" module and armament are replaced in the turret. The Terminator 2 can be used to destroy enemy tanks, armored personnel carriers, and other armored assets. It can also be used to suppress enemy firing emplacements and infantry by using anti tank weapons systems and grenade launchers. In contrast to the Terminator 1, the Terminator 2 is a retrofit only package, with outdated T72B or T72M tanks upgraded to BMPT-72 standard.The main objective of this vehicle was to provide urban support for tanks and other AFVs. The manufacturers refer to the BMPT as the "Terminator" informally. It is well-armed and well-armored to fight in cities. Four 9M120 Ataka missile launchers, two 30 mm 2A42 autocannons, two AG-17D grenade launchers, and a coaxial 7.62 mm PKTM machine gun are among the weapons equipped aboard the AFV.
