Celeste 2024 Secret Santa Collab - A Confectionery Quest (Full Clear)

This map was really fun, but it was daunting to make a video about. My original playthrough took around 4 hours, and in preparation for recording this I spent around 3 hours writing down everything in the map and making detailed instructions on where to go, all so I could make a clean video.

I thought the whole map was charming. I liked the dialogue, the deco, and the music. I think my favorite are both mechanically and aesthetically is Gumm-Gumm Reef, I really liked the curved infinite dash in the water (it was a little annoying how the dash would stop curving if you hit a wall, but that's probably just a technical limitation) and I liked the bounce helper jelly puzzles.

The hardest part of this map was the Ice Dancing berry (the last ice minigame). It took me about 20 minutes my first playthrough, and in this playthrough I got so annoyed by it that looked up my original playthrough for the solution. I also had difficulty with the Sugarbloom Gardens crystal puzzle. More specifically I managed to get most of it, but I got completely stumped by the "white retro block" and had to look it up on the Discord.

Some random thoughts to close this out. I really liked the time rift section. It brings everything together perfectly, and it was fun having a more normal series of challenges in this level. The second unstable rift was also great. I liked the block pushing puzzles in Cocoloco Swamp more than I thought I would. Even the Moving Parts puzzle wasn't that hard once you figured out your general goal. The lights and mirrors puzzles in Sourpower Sewers were also fun, though the fact that subpixels can cause them to not work is annoying, especially if it happens during the first puzzle when you don't already understand the mechanics. I'm not sure I like how so much of this map is found in hidden walls, especially the cats. I know some people had a lot of trouble finding the crab, I didn't personally, but I can see that being really annoying.
