A delightful afternoon walk along Seville’s riverfront offers a perfect blend of scenic views, historic landmarks, and vibrant local atmosphere. Starting your journey at Calle Betis, you are immediately enveloped by the charm of the Guadalquivir River. This bustling street, lined with colorful buildings and tapas bars, boasts one of the most picturesque views in the city. As you stroll along the riverbank, you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the Puente de Triana, the Torre del Oro, and the historic Alcázar in the distance.

Heading towards the Puente de San Telmo, a bridge that connects the lively Triana neighborhood with the center of Seville, the path is lively and full of activity. Whether it’s families enjoying the day, joggers, or tourists admiring the water, there’s always something happening along this riverside stretch. The air is filled with the gentle hum of life, punctuated by the occasional boat passing under the bridge.

Crossing over to the other side of the river, you’ll enter the quieter, more expansive promenade of Paseo de las Delicias. The wide, tree-lined avenue offers shade and tranquility, perfect for a relaxed stroll. Next, follow the river’s curve along Paseo Alcalde Marqués del Contadero, where the path is framed by elegant buildings and lush greenery. This stretch offers stunning vistas of the water on one side and the charming cityscape on the other. The walk continues onto Paseo de Cristóbal Colón, another lovely riverside promenade where locals often sit on the benches to enjoy the views and the breeze.

As you near the heart of the city, you’ll reach the vibrant Mercado del Barranco, a bustling market that’s perfect for grabbing a refreshing drink or some local snacks. The market’s lively atmosphere contrasts beautifully with the serene walk along the river.

Continuing east, you’ll find the Jardines de Chapina, a peaceful garden area filled with native plants and trees, offering a moment of green respite in the midst of urban life. The walk then takes you to the Puente del Cristo de la Expiración, a striking modern bridge that crosses the river, linking both sides with its sleek design.

After crossing, you’ll follow Marqués de Paradas, a picturesque street with lovely views of Seville’s skyline, and past several historic buildings that evoke the city’s grandeur. Finally, you’ll end your walk on San Laureano Street, a charming and less-travelled street that offers a quiet and intimate conclusion to your riverside journey.

This walk gives you the perfect snapshot of Seville’s beauty—balancing the old and new, with moments of peace and the occasional bustle of city life. The ever-present river serves as a gentle companion throughout, reflecting the dynamic, timeless charm of one of Spain’s most enchanting cities.
