Join the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless on Thursday, August 15th at 5pm for the next session in our 2024 virtual Education Series: Black Coloradans: Health and Homelessness.

The primary factors that lead to homelessness are the lack of affordable housing, healthcare (lack of access to, cost of), criminalization, and poverty/wages. In each of these issues, Black individuals historically have been, and continue to be, disproportionately impacted due to structural racism including policies that have restricted Black ownership, impacted health outcomes for Black patients, and provided lower wages to Black workers.

Panelists include Representative Leslie Herod, State Representative House District 8, Dr. Terri Richardson, Colorado Black Health Collaborative, Eric Tars, Senior Policy Director, National Homelessness Law Center, and Patrick J. Wilson III, Managing Director, St. Clare's Ministries.
