My FAVORITE Presidential Gravesite Visit!

On my recent road trip to the east coast, I visited the gravesite of the the 1st U.S. President, George Washington, at his historic home in Mt. Vernon, Virginia. Adjacent to his tomb is the Mt. Vernon slave graveyard and memorial.

I was lucky enough to arrive on a Saturday when they were performing Revolutionary War reinactments on the grounds. Of all the 39 Presidential gravesites I visited, this was my favorite.
