How to Install EAP225-Outdoor Wireless Access Point over 100 Meters

The outdoor WiFi signal maybe not good as indoor. The WiFi access point is a handy tool to improve the WiFi signal outdoor. If you pick the PoE WiFi access point, you don’t even need to have a power source at the edge. The power and data can be sent through a single Ethernet cable. However, the POE is limited to 100 meters, if you need to place the outdoor access point beyond 100 meters, you should add the POE extender about the middle of the link. One POE extender can repeat another 100 meters. You can daisy chain multiple POE extenders to achieve longer distances. In this video, we have used TP-link EAP225 outdoor access point to demonstrate how to extend the POE beyond 100 meters. It is important to know the POE extension only works for standard PoE. You will need to replace the original passive DC24V power injector from TP-link. As the original PoE injector is not the standard device. It is the passive PoE injector. The standard PoE/PoE+ uses DC48V-DC55V as the power source. While the PoE extender detects the DC24V, it will consider it is over low voltage. Moreover, there is a power handshake in the standard PoE system which does not exist in a passive POE injector.
