Jeff Smith, author of the acclaimed Bone series recently released a collected volume of "Thorn, Tales From The Lantern" the daily college strip that he produced while attending classes at THE Ohio State University.

The collection showcases a lot of ways it served as the 'first draft' for the boys from Boneville. I believe Thorn is a great depiction of what it takes to produce a work that will be celebrated the way Bone has been, but more importantly the ways Jeff Smith had to continue to adapt himself to get to where he is at today.
