In Charlottetown, Dennis King, the premier of Prince Edward Island, and Dr. Heather Morrison, the chief public health officer of P.E.I., provide an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. They are joined by Karen Phillips, an epidemiologist with the Chief Public Health Office. Dr. Morrison announces that schools will reopen on January 31, and safety measures such as masking, regular testing and cohorting will be implemented. Current restrictions will also relax starting January 31, allowing gatherings, team events, fitness centres and indoor dining with reduced capacity. The Vax Pass program will remain in place for discretionary events.
