This video will show you how to utilize the windows calculator to easily convert between number systems, including hexadecimal, binary, octal, and decimal.

First, just open the Windows calculator. This can be found by clicking start, typing calc, and hitting enter.

When the calculator pops up, click the menu in the top left, and choose the programmer option.

Then, to convert number systems, just choose the system on the left that you want to convert from, and then type in your number. So if you had the Hex number C5, if you click on hex and type it in, then the decimal box on the left will show 197, which is the decimal equivalent of the hex value C5.

This works the same with binary and octal. The only weirdness that I have noticed is that the large display at the top will cut off leading zeroes from a binary number (which doesn't affect the value, similar to adding zeroes in front of a decimal number), while the value on the left will keep binary in groups of 4 and will keep the leading zeroes. So if you need the leading zeroes, use the left result for ease of use, or the large value if you don't need them.
